Tour to iSESOL, Shangai

Friday, October 11, 14:00

iSESOL is a daughter company of SYMG – Shenyang Machine Tool (Group) Co., Ltd, which is the largest machine tool manufacturer of the world. In the early 2000s, SYMG started to investigate on how to establish a global presence as well as on what would be leading-edge technologies for the future. By doing that, the company realized that the internet and digitalization would dominate the future.

With this background, SYMG created a start-up close to Tongji University, where many young talents could be recruited. New control i5 (Industry, Information, Internet, Intelligent, Integrated) was launched in China in 2014. I5 is not only a control for machine tools, but the platform of SYMG for Industry 4.0.

Parallel to this, a big data environment was established, enabling the integration of artificial intelligence in the machine tool industry. A second start-up was founded, named iSESOL – Smart Engineering and Service OnLine. iSESOL, a fully digital disruptive company, targets new business models based on artificial intelligence. At present, around 30.000 machines (also with other CNC Controls) are connected with iSESOl and deliver live data. With these data, machine health is determined and future behavior of machines can be predicted.
